Jürgen Klopp is said to be content in his job as big boss of the Red Bulls’ football venture, according to The Athletic’s sources. Pep Guardiola dryly stated, when Klopp announced he would be stepping down as coach in 2024, probably for good, that “He’s like me, he has to come back”. At Real Madrid, there are forces who believe Klopp must be tempted back to get the club back on track.

Carlo Ancelotti had a combination of inherent authority and closeness in his leadership style at Real Madrid. The same was true for Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool. Xabi Alonso is now worrying the Real management. Not only with the club’s disastrous 0-2 loss to Celta Vigo, now with six points out of a possible fifteen in the last five La Liga matches, but also what they see as a weakening relationship between Alonso and key members of the squad.

Although Klopp has repeatedly stated that he is no longer interested in the head coaching job, his name has resurfaced in Madrid circles. According to El Mundo, some in the Real management see Klopp as the type of coach who is capable of restoring authority in a divided squad.

We will see if the Spaniards manage to tempt Klopp back into the dugout. The opportunity to manage Real Madrid is a job Klopp would consider a great honor to be offered.
