Rebel Wilson Discusses Weight Loss, GLP‑1 Medications, and Life as a Working Mom.

Rebel Wilson is speaking candidly once again about her health journey, revealing how she balances her love of sweets, her use of GLP‑1 medications like Ozempic, and the realities of being a working mother. The 46‑year‑old actress, best known for her role in Pitch Perfect, is preparing to welcome her second child with her wife, Ramona Agruma.

A Journey Toward Better Health

Wilson has been open for years about her efforts to improve her health. Although she lost around 80 pounds by 2022, she emphasizes that the transformation wasn’t just about the number on the scale. Doctors had warned her that her weight could affect her fertility, which became a major motivator for change.

Her routine now includes daily walks, Pilates once or twice a week, strength training when possible, and a focus on healthier eating. Still, she admits that her sweet tooth sometimes gets the best of her — and that’s when she turns to GLP‑1 medications for support.

“But let’s face it, I love sweets,” she said. “So I need those GLPs from time to time to give a little help.”

Navigating Motherhood and Lifestyle Changes

Wilson became a mother for the first time through a surrogate, and in December 2025 she and Agruma announced that Ramona was pregnant with their second child. Despite not carrying her first baby herself, Wilson says she still gained weight after becoming a parent.

She attributes this to stress, lack of sleep, and the dramatic shift in her daily routine. With less time for the gym and fewer structured workouts, she found her progress slowing down.

“Being a working mum, you just try your best,” she shared. “Shout out to everyone trying to be the healthiest versions of themselves while dealing with a LOT.”

“It’s Not About the Number”

Wilson has consistently emphasized that her health journey isn’t about hitting a specific weight. In a 2020 interview with PEOPLE, she explained that she wanted to break away from unhealthy habits and focus on becoming a stronger, healthier version of herself.

In 2023, she reiterated that the weight she gained after becoming a mother wasn’t about pregnancy, but about lifestyle changes. “I’m just not working out as much, so that has slowed me down,” she told the Daily Mail.

Ozempic and the Rise of GLP‑1 Medications

Ozempic and similar GLP‑1 drugs were originally developed to treat Type 2 diabetes, but their weight‑loss effects have made them widely popular. Wilson is among the many public figures who have acknowledged using them, though she stresses that medication alone isn’t a magic solution.

Her approach blends medical support with sustainable lifestyle habits — and a realistic understanding of her own challenges.
