McDonald’s is celebrating all things Street Fighter with a series of “Street Burgers” menu items.
The bad news is that this is currently only available in Japan, and we don’t have high hopes of getting them in Norway. Ever. However, we can appreciate the best part of this playful collaboration: the amazing “sprite”-style advertising graphics.
McDonald’s has released a series of promotional videos that blend the original arcade graphics from “Street Fighter II” with new “sprite” art based on McDonald’s food.

Our Japanese is not so much rusty as non-existent, but with the help of some text translation, we have managed to figure out what’s going on with these burgers.
The “Ryu” burger is a teriyaki burger with egg and garlic mayonnaise – a reminder of how much the flavor profiles of McDonald’s restaurants can vary between countries.

The latest game in the series, from 2023, will get yellow and red outfits for key characters, apparently for free. But given how locally focused the campaign is, we strongly doubt that these will be available outside of Japan.
McDonald’s “Street Burgers” series will be available from October 22nd, for a limited time. Here you can see the ad.

The Street Fighter movie was scheduled to be released in cinemas on March 26, 2026, an ideal timeframe for this McDonald’s collaboration. But in early September this year, it was postponed to October 16th. The movie has made headlines all year because of its star-studded cast, which includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and 50 Cent as Balrog. These are developments that certainly raise eyebrows.
