The prestigious French guide La Liste has unveiled its 2025/2026 ranking of the world’s 1000 best restaurants, and London’s dining scene has plenty to celebrate. A total of 28 establishments from the capital have earned a coveted spot on the list, contributing to a strong UK-wide showing of 83 restaurants.

What makes La Liste’s approach particularly compelling is its definitive scoring system. Each restaurant receives a score out of 100, leaving no room for ambiguity—a far cry from a vague or lukewarm recommendation.

This year, the number one ranking goes to Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl in Basel, Switzerland, which scored a near-perfect 99.5—a score shared by the entire global top 10.

  1. Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl (Basel, Switzerland)
  2. Da Vittorio (Brusaporto, Italy)
  3. Guy Savoy (Paris, France)

  5. Martín Berasategui (Lasarte-Oria, Spain)
  6. Schwarzwaldstube (Baiersbronn, Germany)

London’s New Contenders

This year’s list also welcomes three exciting new London entries:

  • Row on 5: Located on Savile Row, this “British Gastronomy” restaurant from Jason Atherton offers a £250 tasting menu featuring exquisite dishes like Dorset Silkie Deer and Seabass Au Poivre.
  • The Cocochine: This Mayfair newcomer, which also won the UK Opening of the Year award, is helmed by Sri Lankan chef Larry Jayasekara. It serves a £189 tasting menu, with wine pairings starting at £171.
  • Humble Chicken: Don’t let the name fool you—this Soho spot is an intimate, chef’s table-style experience with only 13 seats. The 16-course menu, a blend of Japanese and European inspirations, commands £235 for lunch or dinner, proving its ambitions are anything but humble.
