Lady Gaga and Doechii Unveil High-Fashion Music Video “Runway” for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Lady Gaga and Doechii are proving they were, quite literally, born for the runway. The two Grammy-winning artists have released their first-ever collaboration, “RUNWAY,” along with a visually striking music video that sets the tone for the soundtrack of the highly anticipated film The Devil Wears Prada 2. The track, written by Gaga alongside Bruno Mars, Jaylah Hickmon, Andrew Watt, Henry Walter, Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II and Jayda Love, debuted on April 27.

A Visual Feast of Avant-Garde Fashion

Directed by Parris Goebel, the music video opens with a bold, theatrical image: Gaga and Doechii sewn into the same oversized red blazer, styled with matching white shirts, black ties and sleek straight hair. As they lip-sync the mantra-like intro — “No matter what… you got to strut” — the tone is set for a celebration of fashion, performance and unapologetic self-expression.

The video quickly transitions into a world of avant-garde couture. Gaga delivers lines about confidence, individuality and glamour while dressed in elaborate, editorial-ready looks. Both artists later appear in 18th‑century‑inspired ballgowns, complete with dramatic makeup and intentionally imperfect hairstyles that add a rebellious edge to the opulence.

Doechii’s rap verse injects playful swagger, as she boasts about commanding the runway and turning any dance floor into her personal stage. The chemistry between the two performers is electric, blending Gaga’s theatricality with Doechii’s sharp, modern energy.

Subtle Nods to the Film’s Universe

The video cleverly weaves in references to The Devil Wears Prada 2. In one early scene, Gaga and Doechii flip through an issue of the fictional fashion magazine Runway, featuring Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton, on the cover. It’s a wink to fans and a reminder that the song is deeply tied to the film’s world.

The sequel reunites Blunt with original cast members Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci. Director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna also return, continuing the story of Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs as they navigate the drastically changed landscape of fashion and journalism.

The film premieres on May 1.

A Collaboration Built on Mutual Admiration

Although “RUNWAY” marks their first musical partnership, Gaga and Doechii have long expressed admiration for each other. Gaga told British Vogue in 2025 that she “fell in love” with Doechii’s songwriting, calling her pen “immediately legendary.” Doechii later shared with PEOPLE that she “audibly gasped” when she heard the compliment, describing herself as a lifelong Gaga fan.

Their mutual respect is palpable in the video — a fusion of artistry, confidence and shared creative vision.

A Bold Anthem of Self-Expression

As the song reaches its finale, the artists chant a final declaration of confidence: they are not afraid of cameras, and they were born for the runway. It’s a fitting conclusion to a track that celebrates individuality, glamour and the power of performance.

“RUNWAY” sets a high bar for the rest of the film’s soundtrack. If this collaboration is any indication, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is poised to deliver a stylish, high-energy musical experience to match its iconic fashion legacy.
