Stephen Kalyn, the rising 28‑year‑old Canadian actor known for his breakout roles in Off Campus and Gen V, has officially joined the star‑studded cast of “The Housemaid’s Secret”, the sequel to Sydney Sweeney’s 2025 global hit The Housemaid. Lionsgate confirmed the news on August 31, unveiling Kalyn as the newest addition to the thriller’s expanding ensemble.

A New Face in the Housemaid Universe
Kalyn will portray Brock, a character whose role remains tightly under wraps. The actor announced his casting through a video shared on Instagram, where he’s seen reading Freida McFadden’s novel outside a trailer on set. The film’s official account welcomed him with the caption: “Welcome home, Brock.”

The sequel brings back familiar faces while introducing new ones:
- Sydney Sweeney returns as Millie
- Michele Morrone reprises his role as Enzo
- Kirsten Dunst joins as Wendy, a casting choice director Paul Feig described as “very unexpected”
- Brittany Snow steps in as Marybeth
- Paul Anthony Kelly plays Douglas Garrick, a role announced earlier in June
Feig praised Dunst’s performance, noting she “hits the part very well” and will surprise audiences with her interpretation.

The first film adaptation of McFadden’s bestseller, starring Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, became a runaway success:

Seyfried, whose character Nina Winchester doesn’t appear in later books, has expressed interest in returning for a cameo: “I almost guarantee that I’m gonna be some small cameo in it. I will jump the f–k back into that.”
