And art.

Recently, the former Real Madrid striker turned 38 years old, and he marked the occasion by giving himself a present. A rare one at that. He has reportedly purchased a painting by Pablo Picasso.

The value of the artwork is still unknown. However, according to Portail Orange, the starting price for Picasso paintings often hovers around €700,000 (approximately 7.5 million Swedish kronor). It usually then escalates to bidders paying several million euros to acquire the paintings. For example, Picasso’s portrait of Dora Maar was recently sold for over €30 million (around 325 million Swedish kronor) to a hotel in Paris, according to Portail Orange.

Meanwhile, Karim Benzema has the capital to make such moves. When the striker joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023, it was reported he would receive an annual salary package of €200 million.
