George and Amal were first introduced by a friend in July 2013. They began dating, and the actor proposed in April 2014. The couple tied the knot that September.
The pair share 8-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.
“I have someone I can talk to about anything and someone who I care about more than I’ve cared about anything, so it’s really nice.”

“I’ve been trying to go the route Paul Newman did — ‘Okay, well, I’m not kissing a girl anymore,’ ” George said.
“When I turned 60, I had a conversation with my wife. I said, ‘Look, I can still play basketball with the boys. I play with 25-year-old guys. I can still hang, I’m in shape. But in 25 years, I’m 85 years old. It doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat, that’s a real number,’ ” he added.
According to reports, the late and great actor Newman famously asked director Sidney Lumet to scrap a kissing scene with his co-star Charlotte Rampling in the 1982 movie, The Verdict.
He is said to have told the filmmaker that his lips were off-limits to anyone but his wife, legendary actress Joanne Woodward, who he enjoyed a 50-year marriage with until his death in 2008.
And it seems Clooney really rated Newman’s show of respect to his spouse, as he’s now decided to take a leaf out of his book.

George has starred in several romantic movies throughout his career, including 2022’s Ticket to Paradise with Julia Roberts, 2003’s Intolerable Cruelty with Catherine Zeta-Jones and 1996’s One Fine Day with Michelle Pfeiffer.
In September 2022, the Oscar winner told The New York Times about a director criticizing his kissing scene while promoting his movie with Roberts, 58.
In the same interview, he revealed that it took him and Roberts several takes to film their one kissing scene. “Yeah. I told my wife, ‘It took 80 takes,’ ” he said. “She was like, ‘What the hell?’ “
“It took 79 takes of us laughing and then the one take of us kissing,” Roberts added, to which George responded, “Well, we had to get it right.”
Since Clooney first embarked on the press tour for Noah Baumbach’s latest, Jay Kelly, in which he plays the central aging Hollywood legend in a bit of winking meta-fictionalism, Clooney has been expanding upon his desire to step out of the romantic mold in which he’s been cast throughout his career.
“Look, I’m 63 years old. I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old leading men,” he told 60 Minutes journalist Jon Wertheim in March. “That’s not my job. I’m not doing romantic films anymore.” And earlier this month, he told Netflix, the studio behind Jay Kelly, that his career priorities are shifting as he ages. “We always look back as we get older and go, ‘I wish I’d spent more time with the family.’ You never go, ‘I wish I spent more time working’ — unless you have a really crappy family.”
