Charlize Theron Says Her Daughters “Actually Enjoy” Seeing Her Date — and They Even Cheer Her On.
Charlize Theron is opening up about a surprising source of support in her dating life: her daughters. The 50‑year‑old actress, who is mom to Jackson, 14, and August, 11, revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show that her kids are far more enthusiastic about her romantic life than she ever expected.

Her daughters are her biggest cheerleaders
Theron admitted she once feared her children might feel uneasy or threatened by the idea of her dating. Instead, they’ve taken the opposite approach.
She shared that her daughters now ask, “Mom, is he texting you? Go on the date, Mom.”
According to Theron, the girls not only accept her dating — they want to be part of the process.

A relationship on her own terms
Despite her daughters’ encouragement, Theron says she’s looking for something very specific. And that includes maintaining her independence.
“I don’t think I could ever live with somebody again,” she said. “I’d love for you to be close — like buy the house down the street — but I don’t know if I can live with someone.”
She explained that her feelings may be tied to the fact that she’s still raising her daughters at home. Once they move out, she admits her perspective might shift.

Bonding through rock climbing
Earlier this month, Theron told E! News that she found a new way to connect with her younger daughter while training for her upcoming film Apex. The actress underwent intense rock‑climbing training with professional climber Beth Rodden — and August joined in.
Theron described her daughter as a “daredevil,” often scaling walls with Rodden while Theron took breaks.
Watching August climb reminded the actress of the simplicity and determination children bring to challenges.
“Kids who know nothing are just like, ‘Gotta get to the top,’” she said. “And you’re like, ‘Okay, that’s all I have to do.’”
A mom first — but still open to love
Theron has long emphasized that motherhood is her priority, but she’s not closing the door on romance. She’s simply doing it in a way that fits her life — and with the full support of two very enthusiastic daughters.
