Beyoncé Shakes Up the Summer With Surprise ‘Morning Dew (Donk) Remix Pack’ Featuring Jay‑Z.

Beyoncé has once again proven she’s the master of controlled chaos in the music industry. In the early hours of August 5, the superstar unexpectedly released the “Morning Dew (Donk) Remix Pack”, a four‑track EP featuring two fresh contributions from her husband, hip-hop icon Jay‑Z.

A Surprise Drop With Fresh Energy

The EP arrived without warning, announced only through a late‑night post from Parkwood Entertainment. The release follows the July debut of “Morning Dew (Donk),” a track written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The‑Dream and Darius Dixon — and one that officially closed the chapter on years of leaked demos from the Beyoncé (2013) era.

On the Remix Pack, Jay‑Z — credited as JAŸ‑Z — delivers a brand‑new verse, rapping: “Top of the top, sloppy as a morning dew / The watch is vintage, I don’t need nothing new / Coming through Malibu in the old school.”

His voice also appears on an acoustic version, adding a stripped‑down, intimate layer to the project.

Chart Momentum

“Morning Dew (Donk)” has already made a strong impact on the charts:

  • Debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs — Beyoncé’s first top 10 entry on the chart in three years.
  • Entered No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs.
  • Landed at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her 61st top‑40 hit.

These numbers highlight the song’s viral resurgence, fueled in part by TikTok trends that emerged after snippets leaked online in 2021 and 2023.

A Track From the Vault

“Morning Dew” was reportedly recorded in 2013 during sessions for Beyoncé’s self‑titled album. After years of circulating unofficially, the song now returns in polished form — and will be included on the 20th anniversary deluxe edition of B’Day.

The original B’Day (2006) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced several major hits, including:

  • “Irreplaceable” — year‑end Hot 100 No. 1 in 2007
  • “Beautiful Liar” with Shakira
  • “Deja Vu” featuring Jay‑Z
  • “Ring the Alarm”

Beyoncé Sets the Pace Again

With the Remix Pack, Beyoncé shows her unmatched ability to revive archival material, reshape it and launch it straight into the cultural conversation. The surprise release strategy keeps fans alert — and keeps Beyoncé firmly in control of her narrative.
